Gromore vs a spreadsheet

The honest version of why Sheets stops working — and when it genuinely still does.

The short answer

If you run fewer than about ten creators and nobody is paid on views, a spreadsheet is genuinely the right tool and you should keep it. The thing that breaks later is not the row count — it is that you paste view counts by hand at whatever moment you happen to look. A post checked on day 3 and one checked on day 30 are not comparable, so you end up ranking creators partly on when someone opened the tab.

A spreadsheet is free, instant, and shaped exactly like your process. Nothing beats it for a handful of creators.

Gromore is built for

Gromore pulls each public handle's posts and view counts on a schedule, so every creator is measured on the same basis and the numbers are not self-reported.

Choose a spreadsheet if

You have fewer than ~10 creators and can eyeball the numbers.
Nobody's pay depends on a view count.
Your process changes every week and you need total flexibility.
You would rather spend nothing until the pain is real. That is a legitimate answer.

Choose Gromore if

You pay creators per view, per milestone, or on a bonus threshold.
You report creator performance to a client or a boss every month.
You have enough creators that nobody can hold the numbers in their head.
You have ever wondered whether a screenshot was accurate.

What Gromore does not do

Most comparison pages leave this out. It is the part worth reading before you buy anything.

No sales or conversion attribution. Gromore reads public platform data and has no access to your store or funnel, so it cannot honestly tell you a creator drove a purchase. That needs UTM links, unique discount codes or an affiliate tool.
Not a creator-discovery marketplace. Gromore measures the handles you already work with. Finding brand-new creators at scale is a different product.
No paid-ads reporting. If your creative runs as paid placements, those numbers live in the ad platform, not on a public handle.
Creators who hide their like counts return unusable likes. The UI marks those Hidden rather than guessing a number.

Common questions

How many creators before a spreadsheet stops working?

In practice people start feeling it somewhere around 15–20 creators, but the number is a red herring. The real trigger is the moment money depends on a view count, because that is when a self-reported figure stops being a rounding error and starts being a payment dispute.

Do creators have to connect their accounts or give permission?

No. Gromore reads public handles the same way any visitor can. There is no OAuth step and nothing for the creator to install, which matters when you work with creators who come and go.

Can I keep my spreadsheet as well?

Yes, and plenty of people do. Every plan includes CSV and PDF export, so Gromore can simply be the place the view numbers come from while the rest of your process stays where it is.
